UNSA SRC nominations are open!

Last week, you should have received an email regarding UNSA’s 2021 Student Representative Council elections. Nominations are now open for all the Council positions you see below; you can see more info on each and nominate yourself by clicking here: https://www.newcastle.edu.au/current-students/uni-life/student-leadership/student-elections

Unless you’ve been hiding under a rock this past year (and I wouldn’t blame you, given the year it’s been), you’ll have seen that NUSA, NUPSA and Yourimbah are no more. UNSA is here now, one unified association, and it needs a strong, diverse and passionate group of student leaders to give voice to more than 30,000 students at the University of Newcastle.

It’s an exciting time to engage in student advocacy. This is the start of a whole new chapter, and as a member of the SRC, you’ll make a direct contribution to the success and happiness of your peers (and yourself!). You’ll learn new skills, gain experience in governance and teamwork, and make a ton of new connections within the UON community.

Nominations close at 5pm next Wednesday, September 16, so get your nomination in soon if you’re keen. Here’s that link again: https://www.newcastle.edu.au/current-students/uni-life/student-leadership/student-elections
