The Clubs Support Officer is the first point of contact for any student club-related enquiries UNSA receives. They guide new clubs in their establishment and affiliation and assist in the administration and re-affiliation of existing clubs.
They provide assistance with club funding proposals, event approval and management, and support club executives in the general day-to-day operations of their club. They also help clubs to understand any required governance tasks and processes and run club-related events and activities (or activities in collaboration with a particular club) for the association.
Hello/Guten Tag! I’m Jessica, a kiwi with a strong German heritage and your Clubs Support Officer. Having completed my degree at the University of Canterbury, NZ, many decades ago (okay – bit of an over exaggeration), I eventually returned to work at UC as an event/entrepreneurship coordinator. I’ve always enjoyed working with students – you guys keep me young.
When I’m not helping clubs do their thing, you’ll usually find me exploring Australia in my DIY campervan, in downward dog (or with my dog), lazing on some beach, or snacking.
It is also important to note that you’ll generally hear me before you see me – after all I am related to hobbits (not really).
If you are thinking of starting a club, you’re a club member or a club executive – come say hi! Please feel free to reach out to me with any questions or if you need any advice. I would love for every student to have a sense of belonging and to be a part of the great community here at UNSA!
