2026 SRC Vacancies
The SRC is comprised of Executive and Non‑Executive members who work across defined portfolios to identify student priorities, advance advocacy outcomes, and represent the diverse experiences of students across the University.
Vice-President Education
The Vice-President (Education) leads a portfolio that represents the views, interests, and needs of UON students concerning both on-campus and online education, as well as their broader educational experiences. The role involves advocating for student interests to drive change on key education issues, developing and supporting a strong structure for academic representation, leading campaigns on relevant topics, and ensuring that the Education Advisory Group captures and reflects the voices of all students at the University of Newcastle.

Student Accommodation Representative
The Student Accommodation Representative identifies and represents the views, interests, and needs of UON students in residential accommodation on UON campuses, while promoting the role and responsibilities of UNSA.
The role identifies issues that affect the out-of-class experiences of residential students and ensures the SRC is informed of relevant matters.

2026 Campus Convenors
The Campus Convenor serves as the lead representative of their respective Campus Advisory Group, a student-led assembly that identifies, discusses, and advocates for the views, interests, and needs of University of Newcastle students at their designated campus location(s). In this role, the Convenor drives student-led campaigns on relevant campus issues, fosters inclusive dialogue, and champions the concerns of their peers. They play a key role in capturing and amplifying the student voice, ensuring it is heard by university stakeholders and reflected in decision-making processes.
Sydney Campus Convenor
The Sydney Campus Convenor coordinates a Sydney Campus Advisory Group, an assembly that identifies and represents the views, interests, and needs of UON students studying at that location. The Campus Convenor role drives the identification of issues that affect the education, educational and out-of-class experiences of students relevant to their location and ensures the Campus Advisory Group genuinely captures and represents the student voice of those students.

Cloud Campus Convenor
The Cloud Campus Convenor coordinates a Cloud Campus Advisory Group, an assembly that identifies and represents the views, interests, and needs of UON students studying online. The Campus Convenor role drives the identification of issues that affect the education, educational and out-of-class experiences of students relevant to their location and ensures the Campus Advisory Group genuinely captures and represents the student voice of those students.

2026 Equity Guild Officers
The Guilds are made up of members that identify with the represented communities and are led by their respective Equity Officer, which are student-held positions. Their role is to chair the Guild meetings, organise Guild events, and to act on behalf of the Guild by sitting on the UNSA Student Representative Council (SRC) where issues affecting students are raised and addressed.
Parents & Carers Officer
The Parents & Carers Officer leads the Parents & Carers Guild – an inclusive community of students, staff, and community members of the University of Newcastle who balance their academic or professional lives with parenting or caregiving responsibilities. As Chair of the Guild, the Officer facilitates regular meetings, advocates for the needs and interests of parents and carers, and works collaboratively with university stakeholders to improve support structures, visibility, and equity for this cohort.

First Nations' Officer
The first Nations Guild is a student-led, inclusive, culturally safe and welcoming space for all students and members of the community who identify as Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander.
