Ride2Uni Day

By Tyler Bridges. Published October 20, 2020.

This Wednesday is Ride2Uni day! It’s an opportunity to look after your health, the environment, and your state of mind. As we are coming up to exams, it is great to take advantage of anything that will clear your mind and allow for a happy body and soul!

This is also a great opportunity to help out the environment; even one day makes a difference! Dust that bike off, make sure your helmet still fits, pump up the tiers, and get ready for the joy of exploring the campus from a new angle.

Joining Ride2Uni Day helps people who have never commuted by bike before to give it a go, and allows regular riders to stay motivated and encourage their work and uni mates to get involved.

Register to ride to campus in one of our organised groups or self-organised for a FREE breakfast at the end! All group rides will be at a ‘no one left behind’ pace. Our aim is to get everyone to campus safely.

This year we are excited to offer the guided group ride options below. Group rides will follow the safest routes possible and have more experienced riders at the front and back of the group to make sure everyone gets there together and safely. You don’t have to be a super-fast rider – the group rides are all about participation and are undertaken at a very social pace so no one will be left behind!

3 starting points to ride to Callaghan:

Start: Whitebridge on the Fernleigh Track – 14km ride along mainly bike paths (multiple pickup spots along the route)

Start: The Forum at Honeysuckle – 15km ride on mainly bike paths, small amount on road with painted cycle lanes. (multiple pickup spots along the route)

Start: Glendale TAFE – 10km ride along mainly bike paths. (multiple pickup spots along the route)

1 starting point to ride To NUspace:

Start: Darks Coffee at McDonald Jones stadium – 8k ride on mainly dedicated cycle paths, small amount on road with painted cycle lanes. (multiple pickup spots along the route)

Ourimbah will be a self-organised ride

Due to COVID-19, our social gatherings and community breakfasts will look a little different. Breakfast will be a grab-and-go, but hey – a free breakfast is a good breakfast, no matter the form.
