Mother’s Day Market FAQ

What is the importance of Mother’s Day?
Mother’s Day provides an opportunity to express gratitude and appreciation for the love, care, and sacrifices mothers make every day. It acknowledges their tireless efforts in nurturing, guiding, and supporting their children and families.

How is UNSA celebrating Mother’s Day?
UNSA will be celebrating Mother’s Day with a day full of fun in the Ourimbah Main Quad with local markets, live music, craft and free food.

When and where will the Mother’s Day Market take place?
The Mother’s Day Markets will take place on the Tuesday, 7th of May between 11am – 2pm. It will be in the Main Quad at our Ourimbah Campus.

Can I bring my non-student friend?
You may bring a non-student friend, however, they will not be able to receive a free lunch as it is SSAF funded and only for students. You will be able to buy food from food stalls on the day.

What stalls will be at the Market?
Local small businesses from the Central Coast will be at our market, these include:
★ Bout The Pout: Handcrafted vegan lip care and accessories
★ Scents By Eloise: Deluxe Central Coast Candles
★ Naked Eden: Low allergy Artisan soap, skin care & cleaning products
★ Dot’s D’Lites: Homemade preserves
★ Emerald Tea Traders: Premium loose-leaf tea and tea wares
★ To and From Cards by Chanelle
★ Maeve & Grace: Handmade hair accessories
★ And More!!! 
All of these business would appreciate your support, which you can do online on their social media accounts!

Will there be free food at the event?
Yes! UNSA’s Free BBQ will be available to all SSAF students and there will be free ice cream. Food stalls will be at the market to all students and non-students!

Will this event be fully accessible?
The Ourimbah Campus Main Quad is fully accessible and the pathways will be solid and free of any obstruction. If you require any further assistance or have any questions about the accessibility, please don’t hesitate to reach out to unsa-events@newcastle.edu.au

Who else will be around on the day?
The University will also be hosting the University Mental Health Day, which will host some stalls focused on physical and mental wellbeing. There will also be craft from Makerspace and Basket Weaving from Wollotuka.
