UNSA understands that, even when they're not in the midst of a global pandemic, international students face a range of financial hardships and challenges, including food insecurity. To help address these, we've partnered with Study NSW and Foodbank NSW/ACT to provide free food hampers for international students in need.
These hampers include a selection of non-perishable pantry staples (such as milk, pasta, cereals and canned vegetables) that can be used to make simple, healthy meals.
Due to current COVID-19 health and safety regulations, Foodbank will deliver your hamper directly to your door. Bear in mind, though, that once restrictions ease, UNSA will act as a distribution centre: all food hampers will be delivered to our Callaghan office, and those who've ordered them can come in to collect theirs.
This service is specifically for international students in need. If you currently have food security (that is, if you can comfortably afford all of your groceries for the week), than we'd be grateful if you could leave these hampers for students who need them more.
This service is just for international students, not domestic. You will need to prove your international status using your visa number.
The current wait time for hampers is approximately three weeks. There are quite a few students that are using this service, so it can some time for your hamper to reach you. Please don't submit multiple forms.
Register for an International Student Hamper on the Foodbank website.
Fill out UNSA's International Student Food Hampers form (so we can match your details with your hamper).
Wait for your hamper! Hampers can take several weeks to arrive, but will be delivered straight to your door.
