The Newcastle Campuses Committee Convenor coordinates the Campus Committee, an assembly that identifies and represents the views, interests, and needs of university students studying at the Callaghan and Newcastle City campuses.
The Campus Convenor drives the identification of issues that affect the education, educational and extra-curricular experiences of students relevant to their location and ensures the Campus Committee genuinely captures and represents the voice of those students.
The Campus Convenor leads campaigns on all relevant issues and supports the advocacy of Callaghan and Newcastle City students and their concerns.
The Newcastle Campuses Committee Convenor sits on the UNSA SRC and works closely with the President, UNSA staff, and the other members of the Executive to achieve these responsibilities.
Howdy! I’m Harry O’Brien-Smith and I’m your Newcastle Campuses Committee Convenor at UNSA this year. As the Newcastle Campuses Convenor, it’s my role to represent students from the Callaghan and City Campuses, and the voice of all students, in order to provide you with the best university experience possible.
I’m incredibly excited to work with the rest of UNSA to help foster a livelier student community and encourage participation in various clubs and events throughout the year.
Now that you know what I do, here are some things that will help you to get to know me as your representative: I’m a second-year Economics and Accounting student and you’ll commonly find me at NuSpace or Auchmuty Library at 2am. I’m a huge fan of Dungeons and Dragons and Star Wars, and occasionally dabble in rock climbing and baking.
I look forward to a great year with you all and hope to see you around campus. Don’t be afraid to come and say hi.
