The Indigenous Collective is a student-led, inclusive, culturally safe and welcoming space for all students who identify as Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander.
The Indigenous Collective is a student-led, inclusive, culturally safe and welcoming space for all students who identify as Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander. Together with the Convenor, the Collective is dedicated to sharing Indigenous perspectives, cultures and voices in both academic and social contexts within the broader UON community.
The Collective aims to represent and advocate on behalf of First Nations students to ensure that all members of the community have the opportunity to excel and grow both academically and culturally while they complete their studies at the University of Newcastle.
Importantly, the Collective strives to foster an environment that champions Indigenous voices through meaningful action initiatives and inclusive and respectful collaboration.
It will also run a variety of social events and cultural activities (both on campus and online), and provide critical input into the SRC, to ensure that the needs and perspectives of First Nations students are at the forefront of UNSA's future programs, initiatives and advocacy.
If you are a current student who identifies as Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander, you are welcome to be a part of the Collective! Click the button below to join.
